In their 20th year, the Berryhill Plant sale is going on now! Open again tomorrow from 9:00 a.m. to 2 p.m and located at 13556 Berryhill in Council Bluffs. May 5 & 6th, 2017
Join the Men’s Garden Club of Omaha at their annual plant sale. Bedding plants, herbs, Heirloom tomatoes and peppers, grasses and many perennials. The sale runs Friday, May 5 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 6 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Keystone Event Center at 7803 Military Avenue (lower level). Join the West Pottawattamie Extension Master Gardeners for their annual plant sale on Saturday, May 13 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Iowa School for the Deaf Campus at 3501 Harry Langdon Blvd. Their will be various perennials and annals for sale (some that I personally dug for you in other gardens and maybe even a few from my garden). The Mills County Extension Master Gardeners sale is also Saturday, May 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and is held in Glenwood, IA in the parking lot behind Glenwood State Bank. “High quality low cost plants including annuals, perennials, houseplants, vegetables, ornamental grasses and more! For every $20 purchase receive a free bucket of Omagro.” For more information find their Facebook event.
The Lauritzen Gardens Spring into Spring plant sale will also be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and the cost is $10 or free for members. Members can get a sneak peek Friday night from 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. “Thousands of plants for sale- annuals, perennials, herbs, tropicals, ornamental grasses, succulents and more.” Visit their website for more information.

The General’s Ladies of the Historic General Dodge House will host their Annual Heirloom Plant Sale on May 20, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Their sale includes heirloom vegetables including tomatoes and peppers is located at 621 Third Street. Funds benefit the Dodge House. Diller Greenhouses and Struyk Turf, LTD. are event sponsors.
I visited the Berryhill sale today and found three peonies ($5 each) along with many other perennials that I did not have for around $2-$4 a piece. These new perennials will fill my front beds at the new house!
It looks like the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum also has a plant sale on the 4th weekend in April that I missed. I’ll have to make sure to watch for next year.
