Well it all started with a Baltimore Oriole for me (just last week).. and now I am hooked. We had a male Baltimore Oriole right outside of our window last week (looking at itself in the glass) that I had never seen before. I rushed to buy oranges, grape jelly, grapes and several new feeders. I have been rewarded for my efforts!
So far I have seen a Baltimore Oriole, Orchard Oriole, Blue Bird, Cardinal, Downy Woodpecker, Rose Breasted Grosbeak, Gray Catbird, Swallows, Sparrows, Morning Dove, Blue Jay, Goldfinch and a turkey! I was watching my new feeders and up walked a female wild turkey to check out what was going on. That was a first for me for sure!
Orchard Oriole
Two Baltimore Orioles
Gray Catbird
Female Oriole (not sure yet if Baltimore or Orchard female)
Downy Woodpecker (thanks Bob & Jane!)
In the below photo: Downy Woodpecker, Cardinal and another bird I’m not sure about.
What do you have in your yard right now?
Update: Since I posted this blog we have also seen the following: White Breasted Nuthatch, Northern Flicker.
