We received this bird feeder stand and new feeders as Christmas gifts. We set them up last weekend and since then, we’ve seen orchard orioles, baltimore orioles, catbirds, goldfinch and cardinals. The orioles LOVE oranges and grape jelly. They are very fun to watch!
Goldfinch.Catbird.
Cardinal.
My little hummingbird friend was around again today.
This morning (Sunday) I headed off to Ankeny to visit my mom and grandma. We ate at a new restaurant in town and then hit up some greenhouses. First stop was the new Canoyer Greenhouse in Ankeny and then Goode’s Greenhouse in Des Moines.
We couldn’t figure out what this beautiful plant because it was in a mixed pot without any tags. Does anyone know? Comment below!
Goode’s always has lots of geraniums.
Our next stop was Piney Ridge Greenhouse in Johnston, IA. One of my favorite greenhouses because of their great selection.
I’ll post more about what I purchased and a before/after pic of our front bed soon! What did you do this weekend?
No idea your mystery plant–very pretty! You had a wonderful weekend together. Did you see the Proven Winners Lemon Sedum? Still looking. Your bird feeding station is a definite success. Thanks for sharing your plant shopping favorites! Beautiful photos.

Lovely visit to that Des Moines greenhouse — I’ll have to make sure I visit next time I’m in the central part of the state. Thanks for sharing the photos! Best, -Beth
