Peonies, peonies, peonies

It seems like the peony season came and went very quickly this year. I’m glad I got out to take lots of photos right away because the HOT weather flushed all of our peonies out very quickly. I’m so disappointed that I didn’t make a single bouquet this year.

These peonies at our new house must be ancient. They are just beyond huge. I love every single bit of them.

Last year, I made bouquet after bouquet but it was so hot this year that I didn’t make a single one. I kept thinking it was too hot to pick them because they would just wilt!

I guess there is always next year. Goodbye peonies.

There is something beautiful about them when they are fading too. Rustic.

What a shame. Heat really pushes these babies over fast. Mine are just opening and fingers crossed, our cool weather persists. My first vase was posted yesterday. 🙂
